Probate Records DGS 007830084 images 1382-1390 THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me GEORGE
CROFTON of Hatfield, Pretoria in the Transvaal Province of the Union of
South Africa, married under Antenuptial Contract excluding community of
property to my wife FRANCIS ELEANOR CROFTON (born Smith). Hereby revoking,
cancelling and annulling all former wills, codicils and other testamentary
dispositions made and executed by me, I declare the following to be and
contain my last will and testament desiring that it may have effect as such
or as a codicil or otherwise in such manner as may be most consistent with
law.
I DECLARE to nominate and appoint my said wife, FRANCES ELEANOR
CROFTON (born Smith) to be the executrix of this my will and
administratrix of my estate and effects and guardian of my minor child or
children, hereby giving and granting unto her in such capacities all such
powers and authorities as are required or allowed by law and especially
that of assumption. And I direct that any Master of the Supreme Court of
South Africa concerned or any other official shall dispense with the
finding of security by maid said Executrix or Adminstratrix or Guardian of
my minro child or children for the due and faithful administration of my
estate and effects.
I DECLARE to give, devise and bequeath to my child or children
surviving me the corpus of an inheritance which has accrued to me from the
Estate of my late mother, the Honourable Mrs Emily Augusta Crofton, which
corpus is presently held in trust by Lord Crofton and Sir William Mahon in
terms of the last Will and Testament of the said Emily Augusta Crofton,
and in the event of any child predeceasing me leaving lawful issue I
direct that such issue shall come into the place and take the share of
such predeceased parent or parents by representation according to law.
I DECLARE to nominate, institute and appoint my said wife, FRANCES
ELEANOR CROFTON (born Smith) to be the sole and universal heiress of the
rest, residue and remainder of my Estate and Effects, whether movable or
immovable, personal or real of what nature or kind soever and wheresoever
situate and whether the same sahall be in possession, reversion,
remainder, expectancy or contingency, nothing excepted.
AND LASTLY I declare to reserve to myself the power from time to
time and at all times hereafter to make all such alterations in or
additions to this Will as I may think fit either by separate act or at the
foot hereof, desiring that all such alterations or additions so made and
signed by me shall be held as valid and effectual as if the same had
originally been embodied herein.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand at Pretoria
aforesaid on theis 18th day of January in the yeat of our Lord One Thousand
Nine hundred and twenty-six in presence of the subscribing witnesses.
