Isabella is mentioned in the will of her husband, Gervase Clifton dated 26
November 1453 and proved on 16 January 1453(4).

† Isabella daughter of Sir Robert Francis, Knight, died on the 13th
of June, 1457, and was buried in the church of Clifton.

Clifton of Hoddesak, who married Isabell,
the daughter of Sir Robert Franceis, Knight, and left her a

To the north is a much worn incised slab bearing the figure of a woman.
This slab probably commemorates Isabella who was the daughter of Sir
Robert Francis and wife of Sir Gervase Clifton, who died in 1457.
According to Thoroton the inscription read:
Hic jacet Isabella filia Roberti Fraunceis uxor Gervasii Clifton, militis,
filii Domini Johannis Clyfton, militis, quae obiit 13 Junii 1457
