2. Robert Moore, died June 22, 1725, aged 76. Mary Moore, died March 18,
1670, aged 25. Mary Moore, mother of the said Robert, died October 28,
1675, aged 75. William Moore, esq; sometime mayor, her husband, died Dec,
30, 1697, aged 80. Penelope Moore, died Feb. 14, 1709, aged 60. Samuel
Moore (son of Robert snd Penelope) died May 16, 1724, aged 28.

vol 2 p46 (Benjamin Strutt, 1803); Register of the scholars admitted to Colchester
school, 1637-1740 p77 (entry for son Samuel) states that
Samuel was the "grandson of Robert Moore, Mayor of Colchester 1664,
1670, 1681, 1694" but the name is in error - the mayor of Colchester in
these years was actually William Moore (wikipedia
- Mayor of Colchester).
- The will of Penelope's
sister, Abigail Shaw (Essex
Record Office D/ACW 21/54) contains this bequest on page 3 "I give
and bequeath unto my brother Mr Robert Moore the sum of five pounds of
lawful English money To buy himself mourning, And I do give and bequeath
ye sums of of five pounds unto his wife my Sister Mrs Penelope Moore To
buy mourning for herself"

Botolph's (M.I.).
