Oda died in 913, at the age of 107. If both of these data points are correct, her birth year can be deduced to 805 or 806.

The monk Agius, writing the life of Liudolf's daughter, Hathumod, writes that Oda was from a noble Frankish family.

This roughly translates as:
Her father, descended from a very illustrious Saxon family, was duke of the East Saxons; her mother, descended from a very noble Frankish family, shone forth more noble in her offspring.

Liudolf and Oda made a pilgrimage to Rome, returning with relics for an abbey which they founded at Brunshausen and later transferred to Gandersheim.

  Derselben religiöfen Richtung der Zeit folgte auch Graf Liudolf, da er mit feiner frommen Gemahlin Oda und jahlreichem Gefolge gleichfalls gen Rom pilgerte, jenen stammverwandten angelsächsischen Königen nacheifernd, von denen so vielc zu brünstigem Gebete an die Gräber der Apoftsel gervallt waren. Durch ein Schreiben des Königs Ludwig auf das wärmste empfohlen, erschien er vor dem Bapste Sergius II. (844-847) mit glänzenden Geschenten, die ihm eine huldvolle Aufnahme ficherten.
This roughly translates as:
Count Liudolf also followed the same religious trend of the time, when he, along with his pious wife Oda and a rich retinue, made a pilgrimage to Rome, emulating those Anglo-Saxon kings of his lineage, so many of whom had come to fervent prayer at the tombs of the Apostles. Warmly commended by a letter from King Louis, he appeared before Pope Sergius II (844-847) with splendid gifts that assured him a gracious reception.

Domna quoque Oda centesimo septimo aetatis anno, omnibus filiis praemissis, decessit, Cristina tantum superstite, positaque est iuxta filias suas.
This roughly translates as:
Lady Oda also died in the one hundred and seventh year of her age, leaving all her children behind, leaving only Cristina alive, and she was laid to rest beside her daughters.

Quum decies denos septem quoque vixerat annos,

Corporis, in tumulo, quod nunc sub tegmine duro
luxta natarum requiescit busta suarum.
This roughly translates as:
For I remember that Aedes would have been said to her parent,
Oda too happy, our hope and mistress,
When she had lived ten times ten and seven years,
Ending her life with a good end, she passes to the stars,
Awaiting with happy hope the time to return
Breath, and to rise from the dust, full of
Body, in the tomb, which now under the hard cover
The bright envelope of her children rests.
