is farming 290 acres at Little Inglebourne in Harberton, Devon, employing 6
men and 1 boy. In 1891 he is farming at Bilsham farm in Yapton, West Sussex.

The second estate belonged by 1608 to Sir Garrett Kempe, lord of
Slindon manor, and though never a manor was the later Bilsham Manor farm
west of Bilsham Road. Garrett and Anthony Kempe were dealing with Bilsham
farm, so called, in 1664, and the same or another Anthony Kempe in 1685.
Thereafter it evidently descended with Slindon until in 1908 it was sold
to the tenant John C. Loveys (d. 1931). The farm comprised c. 190 a. in
1819, 216 a. c. 1840, and 381 a. c. 1910. Loveys' son Walter succeeded him
in it before 1924, and was succeeded by his son John.

Notes: Loveys Road in Yapton is named after
Walter, who was on Yapton Parish Council and Chichester Rural District
Council for many years and also farmed the land upon which the road was
built.
