Jane was born on 30 November 1843 in Castletownsend, county Cork, the
daughter of Christopher Leycester Malet. She died on 7 October 1870 in
Dundonald, county Down, aged 26, and is buried in Balmoral cemetery,
Belfast. The memorial inscription on her grave reads:
