Married: Carl Gustaf Berglund on 26 October
1895 in Runtuna, Södermanland, Sweden
Banns were read on 29 September, 6 October and 13 October. Karl Gustaf
Berglund is recorded as born on 9 October 1870. He is a farmhand (dräng),
resident at Fredriksdal. Amanda Karolina Runman is recorded as born on 18
November 1870. She is a servant (piga)
resident at Äresta.
Notes: Amanda Carolina was born on 18
November 1870, at Österberga Båtsmanstorp in Runtuna parish, Södermanland,
where her father was the båtsman
and lived there with her family until 1886 when she moved to Stora Axmora
where she worked as a servant (piga).
Amanda moved to Ekeby in 188 and to Norrby No. 2 in 1890, working in both
places as a piga. In 1892 Amanda
returned to her parents' home at Österberga Båtsmanstorp where she had a
child, Erik Axel Valdermar, on 3 January 1893. Amanda and Erik moved to
Egersta in 1893 where Amanda is again listed as a piga,
then to Äresta, where her brother Karl was working, in 1894. Amanda married
Karl Gustaf Berglund on 26 October 1895 and the couple moved to Åkra where
Karl is listed as a barn worker (ladugårdskarl).
Karl Johan was born at Åkra and the family of four moved back to Äresta in
1896 where Karl is listed as a farmhand (dräng).
Karl Johan died in February 1897, and later that year the family moved to
Rosenkälle in Helgona parish where Gustaf Ejnar was born in 1898, then to
Brolötstorp in Svärta parish where Karl was a cattle worker (kodräng).
Gustaf Ejnar died in 1899 and Ruth Wictoria also died as an infant at
Brolötstorp. In December 1900 Amanda's retired parents came to live with
them at Brolötstorp. Karl, Amada and Erik moved to Lindö back in Runtuna
parish in 1901 and Amanda's parents moved to the poorhouse (fattighus)
in Runtuna where Anders died in 1902. Twin daughters, Amanda and Märta were
born at Lindö, then the family settled down at Runtunaby in 1902, where Karl
continued to work as a kodräng.
Magda was born in 1904. Karin in 1907 and Gustaf in 1909, and Karl became
the barn foreman (ladug[ård]förman).
After seventeen years at Runtunaby, the Karl, Amanda and their three
youngest children who were still living at home moved to Brandkärr in
Helgona parish where Karl worked as a barn worker (ladugårdskarl).
In 1923 they moved to Kärsta No. 3 in Lunda parish and in 1925 to Arnö in
Nyköping Sankt Nicolai parish. In 1930 Karl retired and they moved to Hult,
also in Nyköping Sankt Nicolai where they resided until Amanda's death on 3
July 1945.
Birth: 25 November 1841 in Grevbäck,
Skaraborg, Sweden
Baptism: 26 November 1841 in Grevbäck,
Skaraborg, Sweden
Father: Johannes Larsson
Mother: Johanna Andersdotter
Married:Carolina
Charlotta Andersdotter on 25 November 1866 in Runtuna, Södermanland,
Sweden
Banns were obtained on 15 October. Anders Runman is recorded as a båtsman,
born in 1841, resident at Österberga. Carolina Charl. Andersdr. is recorded
as born in 1841, resident at Runtunaby. She has a child, A. F. Ands.
Notes: Anders was born on 25 November 1841
in Grevbäck parish, Skaraborg county. The Födelsebok states that his parents
were resident at Spakåsmark although the Husförhörslängd shows the family
moving from Spakåsmark to "socknens slut" or the welfare of the parish in
1839. Possibly this was more a change of welfare status more than a physical
move. Anders' father died in 1851 and around 1858 Anders, his mother and
younger brother are shown moving from "socknens slut" to Spakåsmark
backstugan. Anders moved away from home in 1859 and we pick up his trail
again in 1861 when he moved from Grevbäck to Gomåttan in Runtuna,
Södermanland where hi elder brother, Carl Johan was working. Anders worked
as a farmhand (dräng). Anders moved
to Strångstugan in 1863 and then to Sigtuna soldattorp in Frustuna parish
where his younger brother Otto was the soldat.
Anders' occupation here is listed as a brother's farmhand (brodren
dräng). Perhaps Anders picked up the military lifestyle from his
brother because in 1866 he joined the navy (båtsman) and moved to
Österberga båtsmanstorp in Runtuna parish,
where Carolina and Anders lived from 1866 until 1899. This photo
was taken about 1930, and the people in it are not related to
Carolina and Anders.
Österberga Båtsmanstorp back in in Runtuna parish. Båtsmän
were navy recruits who represented a "ward" (rote)
in coastal provinces. The men in the rote
paid a salary to, and provided a cottage and
smallholding (torp) to, their båtsman. When not on naval duty, the båtsman
would work on farms in the rote. Anders took the surname
Runman which is the military name given to him related to the båtsmanstorp,
and does not mean he was related to the previous båtsmän
at Österberga båtsmanstorp, all also named Runman. Anders married Carolina
Andersdotter on 25 November 1866. Whether coincidence or not, Carolina had
been a servant (piga) in the
household of the previous båtsman
at Österberga a few years previously. Carolina's widowed mother, Anna Lovisa
Lundman, also moved in to Österberga båtsmanstorp with the newly married
couple. A
note in 1868 records that Anders was disciplined with 5 days of only
water and bread for being absent from his station for three days (5
dagars vatten o bröd för 3 dygns undanhållning från station).
Carolina and Johan lived at Österberga Båtsmanstorp for 33 years, until
1899, raising eight children there. Carolina's mother died in 1891.
Österberga båtsmanstorp in Runtuna
parish. was demolished in 1934. This photo of the remains was
taken in 1995.
In 1899 Anders retired and had to vacate the båtsmanstorp. He and Carolina moved to
Kesta in Runtuna parish where their son, Karl lived and then, in 1900, to
Brolötstorp l. Norshammar in Svärta parish where one of their daughters,
Amanda, lived. Amanda and her husband moved back to Runtuna parish in 1901
and Anders and Carolina did as well, though not to the same place - they
moved to the poorhouse (fattighus)
in Runtuna where Anders died on 3 July 1902.
Death: 3 July 1902, in Runtuna,
Södermanland, Sweden
The cause of death is listed as cancer (kräfta).
Burial: 11 July 1902, in Runtuna,
Södermanland, Sweden

was the båtsman, and lived there
with her family until 1892 when she moved to Kungberga where she worked as a

September 1912 in Dillnäs. She was buried on 12 September 1912.
Death: 4 September 1912 in Dillnäs,
Södermanland, Sweden
The cause of death is listed as tuberculosis (lungsot)
Notes: Axel Edvard was born on 14 June 1874,
at Österberga Båtsmanstorp in Runtuna parish, Södermanland, where his father
was the båtsman, and lived there
with his family until 1889 when he moved to Skogstorp in Ludgo parish where
he worked first as a servant boy (tj[änare]gosse) and then as a farmhand (dräng). Axel moved to Runeborg back in
Runtuna parish in 1891, where he died of pneumonia on 14 OCtober 1892, aged
18.

Södermanland, Sweden, aged 18.
The cause of death is listed as pneumonia (lunginfl[ammation]).
Notes: Carl Emil was born on 8 April 1873,
at Österberga Båtsmanstorp in Runtuna parish, Södermanland, where his father
was the båtsman, and lived there
with his family until 1890 when he moved to Runeborg where he worked as a
famhand (dräng).
Karl then moved to Sundby in 1891 and Äresta in 1893. His sister, Amanda
also moved to Äresta in 1894. Karl moved to Rotetorp in 1895, then to Kesta
in 1899. His retired parents also lived at Kesta from 1899 to 1900. In 1900
Karl moved to Granstaholm, which was owned by his step-brother, Johan
Fredrik Runman, then to Limmersvik in Svärta parish in 1901, Edstorp in
Råby-Rönö in 1903, back to Rotetorp in Runtuna in 1904, then Esta in
Sättersta parish in 1905, Horn No. 1 in Svärta in 1906 and back to Rotetorp
in Runtuna in 1907, working in all these places as a farmhand (dräng). Also working at Rotetorp during
his second stint there was Maria Josefina Hultman whom he would marry a
number of years later. Karl moved to Ödesbrunn in Ludgo parish in 1908 where
he stayed until 1913, when he moved to Musstorp in Nyköping Sankt Nicolai
parish and in 1914 he moved to Inneberga in Runtuna parish. In 1915 Karl
moved back to his stepbrother's farm, Granstaholm where his occupation is
listed as an agricultural worker (j[ord]br[uks]arbetare).
Karl married Maria Josefina Hultman on 11 December 1915 in Svärta parish,
and the couple lived at Granstaholm until 1917 when they moved to Lindö
where Karl worked as a barn worker (ladug[årds]karl),
then to Säby in Svärta parish in 1919. In 1921 Karl and Maria fostered
Maria's eight year nephew, Axel Bertil Karlsson, whose mother, Ida Charlotte
Karlsson, had died. Axel was born on 10 January 1913 in Svärta parish. The

1926 and Hultstugan also in Råby-Rönö, in 1929. Axel moved away in 1930, but
Karl and Maria stayed at Hultstugan where Maria died in 1938.
Married: August Erik Petersson on 9 May 1908
in Nyköping Västra, Södermanland, Sweden
Banns were read on 12 April, 19 April and 26 April. Erik August Petersson is
recorded as born on 1 July 1883. He is a former lance corporal (v[ice]korpral)
from Nyköping Ö[stra]. Gerda Vilhemlina Runman is recorded as born on 27
September 1883. She is a dairymaid (mejeripiga)
resident at III 5½.
Notes: Gerda Wilhelmina was born on 27
September 1883, at Österberga Båtsmanstorp in Runtuna parish, Södermanland,
where her father was the båtsman,
and lived there with her family until 1897 when she moved to Brobytorp, also
in Runtuna parish, where she worked as a servant (piga) then to Stora Axmora in November
1900. Moving to Stora Axmora on the same day was seventeem year old August
Erik Pettersson whom Gerda was to marry eight years later. In November 1901
Gerda moved away from Stora Axmora to her uncle's farm at Granstaholm, where
she had a daughter, Märta Amalia, in December of that year. August is not
named as Märta's father on her birth record, but three factors make it seem
likely that he was - the two were both living at Stora Axmora at the time,
Märta was fostered from 1903 by August's elder brother, Karl Vilhelm
(Pettersson) Tufverin, and lastly that August and Gerda would eventually
marry in 1908. A few days before Gerda left Stora Axmora for Granstaholm,
August also left, going to Ringsö in Bälinge parish working as a dräng.
Gerda and Märta moved to Goglunda in Stigtomta parish in 1902. In 1903 Gerda
moved to Esta in Sättersta parish and at the same time Märta was fostered by
Karl Vilhelm Tufverin, a grenadier,
and Augusta Charlotta Danielson of Kuhlstugan grenadiertorp in Lästringe
parish. Tufverin was Karl Vilhelm's soldier name, and his "own name" (egna nammet) is listed as Pettersson -
Karl was in fact the elder brother of Erik August Pettersson whom Gerda
would marry some five years later. Gerda moved to Drämsta in Lästringe
parish in 1904. In November 1907 she moved to III 5½ in Nyköping Västra
where she worked as a dairymaid (mejeripiga)
and married Erik August Petersson on 9 May 1908. In June 1908 the couple
moved to Kuhlstugan grenadiertorp in Lästringe parish where Gerda's
daughter, Märta, was living with her foster parents and Karl, Augusta and
Märta moved that same year to next door Åkrastugan. Erik worked as a
labourer (arbetare) at Kuhlstugan.
Erik Birger was born at Kuhlstugan in 1909 and later that year the family
moved to IV 1-1½ in Nyköping Östra, then to I 112-113 in Nyköping Västra in
1910 where Erik is listed as a warehouse worker (magasink[arl]).
In 1912 the family moved to V 63-64 in Nyköping Östra, and also fostered
Gerda's nine-year old niece, Magda Amalia, who had been orphaned that year.
Magda lived with them until 1914 when she moved to live with another of
aunts, Edla, who lived at Dalsätter in Ripsa parish. During this time Erik's
occupation starts to be listed as a sewer worker (renhållnsarb[etare]).
In 1915 the family moved to Nya Anneberg 10, then in 1918 to V 35 where Erik
is listed as a garden worker (trä[dgards]arb[etare])
and in 1924 to Sunnersta in Helga Trefaldighet parish in Uppsala county
where Erik worked as a construction carpenter (byggnadssnick[are]),
and they fostered Erik Teodor Petterson. In 1926 the family moved to
Tunaberg in Gamla Uppsala and then to Uppsala domkyrkoförsamling in 1928
where they lived at a number of addresses in Fjärdingsroten and
Kungsängsroten and Erik and Gerda were still living there in 1943.

Theodor Karlsson is recorded as born on 13 July 1880. He is resident at
Grufstugan in Nikolai. Hulda Charlotta Runman is recorded as born on 23 June
1881. She is a servant (piga)
resident at Branthäll.
Notes: Hulda Charlotta was born on 23 June
1881, at Österberga Båtsmanstorp in Runtuna parish, Södermanland, where her
father was the båtsman, and lived
there with her family until 1897 when she moved to Svednäs in Björnlunda
parish where she worked as a servant (piga). In 1898 Hulda moved to Lilltorp,
also in Björnlunda, then to Kolbro in Euntuna parish in 1899 and Branthäll

Hulda married Karl Gustaf Theodor Karlsson on 21 December 1902 and moved to
his family's residence at Grufstugan in Nikolai where Karl worked as a
labourer (arb[etare]). Karl Axel
was born at Grufstugan in March 1903 and later that year the family moved to
No. 218, Nyköping Sankt Nicolai, where Hulda's sister, Ulrika, also lived
with her young family. In 1904 they moved to No. 252, Nyköping Sankt Nicolai
where Bert Alvar was added to the family, and then Dagny Lucia in 1907. The
family moved to No. 217, Nyköping Sankt Nicolai in 1909 and then to
Stafstugan in 1911 where Karl was a tenant farmer (torpare).

when both her parents died that year. In 1915 the family moved to 1st
Kvarteret No. 83 in Nyköping Västra where Karl was a labourer (grofarb[etare])
and they lived there for ten years before moving to 2nd Kvarteret No. 29A in
1925 and 5th Kvarteret No. 35 in Nyköping Östra parish in 1927, then 16
Kvarteret No. 10 in 1929. Karl committed suicide there in 1937 after which
Hulda moved to 21 Kvarteret No. 9-10, then to 17 Kvarteret No. 12 in 1942
where she was still living in 1946.

1879. She is a servant (piga)

Notes: Ulrika Eleonora was born on 26 April
1879, at Österberga Båtsmanstorp in Runtuna parish, Södermanland, where her

is again listed as a stalldräng.
Karl Herman was born at Stjärnholm in 1903 and later that year the family of
four moved to No. 218, Nyköping Sankt Nicolai where where Ulrika's sister,
Hulda, also lived with her young family and Otto is listed as a labourer (arb[etare]). They then moved to Weckla
