Baptism:England
Births and Christenings GS film 1736691 has Mary Simons baptised
on 19 September 1630 in Davington, Kent, the daughter of Theophilus
Simons. Davington is about 30 miles from Deal, but I believe that this
is a transcription or indexing error in the LDS extract, and that the
baptism actually occurred in Deal.
Burial: 7 January 1680, in Deal, Kent,
England
Note that although it seems odd to modern eyes that Mercy was baptised on 24
October 1680, and was buried on 7 January 1680, England was, at this time,
still using the Julian calendar, and years only "flipped over" on 25 March,
so Mercy would have been about two and a half months old when she died.
Occupation: Bricklayer; Samuel Simmons built
the foundations and much of the walls of St. George's Church in Deal, Kent.

Birth:England
Births and Christenings batch I01014-0 has Theophilus Simons
baptised on 7 May 1637 in Davington, Kent, the son of Theophilus Simons
and Martha. Davington is about 30 miles from Deal. I believe that this
is most likely a transcription or indexing error in the LDS extract, and
that the baptism actually occurred in Deal.
Baptism:England
Births and Christenings GS film 1736691 has Thomas Simons baptised
on 19 May 1633 in Davington, Kent, the son of Theophilus Simons.
Davington is about 30 miles from Deal, but I believe that this is a
transcription or indexing error in the LDS extract, and that the baptism
actually occurred in Deal.
Baptism: 27 October 1678, in Deal, Kent,
England
Another baptism
record is found for Thomas, with the same parents, in Sholden (a
village near Deal) on 28 October 1678.
Burial: 15 January 1717, in the parish
church, Deal, Kent, England
Will: written 4 October 1717, proved 30
January 1717, includes 3 leasehold tenements
Note that since England was using the Julian calendar at this time, the year
only "flipped over" on 25 March, so it is consistent that Thomas's will was
written on 4 October 1717 when he died on 15 January 1717.
