In 1900 we find Alfred farming in Centerville township, Michigan. A dispute
arose between Alfred and his mother and stepfather, John P. Kjellen, which
resulted in a legal finding in favor of John Kjellen and the seizure and
sale of Alfred's property in Michigan, including his farm in Centerville
township.

Anna
Lovisa Lundman
Christina Lovisa Jansdotter on 25
September 1857, in Överjärna, Stockholms län, Sweden
Banns were read on 20 September 1857. Anders Gustaf Andersson is recorded as
a farmhand (dräng) from Bälinge
parsonage (prestgård). Christina Lovisa Jansdotter is recorded as a servant
(piga) from Ogåndan. She is the
daughter of Joh. Skomakare of Trumstatugan, Bälinge län.
Christina was born on 8 May 1832 at Trumstastugan, Bälinge parish,
Södermanland and baptised in Bälinge on 10 May, the daughter of Jan Adolf
Skomakare and Sara Greta Pärsdotter. Her father was a navy seaman (båtsman)
and the family lived in the båtsmanstorp
- housing that large farms like Trumsta were required to provide to the
seamen. Christina left home in 1848 to work as a servant (piga)
at Grömsta in Lästringe parish. She moved back to Bälinge parish in 1850,
working at Stora Stäk until 1851 and then Mostena until 1853 when she moved
to Björksund in Tystberga parish. In November 1855 Stina moved to the
parsonage at Sundbo back in Bälinge parish, working as a piga and another
newcomer at Sundbo, starting as a dräng just
five days later, was Anders Gustaf Andersson. Stina moved to Ogåndan in
Överjärna parish, Stockholms län in 1856 but evidently didn't lose track of
Anders - they were married in Överjärna on 25 September 1857. The newlyweds
moved to Bomarsvik in Turinge parish, Stockholms län, where Anders is
recorded as a married farmhand (statdräng).
They had their first child, Carl, at Bomarsvik before moving back to
Ogåndan, in Överjärna parish, where Christina had worked before her
marriage, in 1858, then back to Bomarsvik in 1859 and to Mora in Överjärna
parish in 1860. In 1861 the family, now with two children, moved to Aspdalen
in Ytterjärna parish, Stockholms län, where Anders is listed as a worker (arbetsk[arl]). In 1863 Anders became a
torpare at Fiskartorp in Vårdinge
parish, Stockholms län, where the family lived for the next ten years.
Anders and Christina also added three more children to their family during
their time at Fiskartorp. In 1873 Anders and family moved to Ängen, also in
Vårdinge parish, where Anders continues to be listed as torpare,
and in 1876 they moved to Peterslund where they stayed until 1879. In 1879
Anders, Christina and their two youngest children moved to Frustuna parish
back in Södermanland. The family lived at No. 27 Tabergsberg C until 1880,
then at Johansdal A until 1881, Gustafslund A until 1882 and Söra No 1 until
1886. In 1886 Anders and Christina moved to Dalsäter, where Anders is
recorded as the homeowner (eg
denoting hemmansegare). Anders and
Christina lived at Dalsäter for the rest of their lives. Anders died in
February 1908, and after that Christina is listed as the owner of Dalsäter.
Their daughter Edla and her husband and son moved to Dalsäter in April 1908
until 1915. Christina died on 6 February 1918, of breast cancer (cancer
mamma) and was buried in Frustuna on 12 February 1918.

Andersson and his new wife Johanna joined Anders at Fiskartorp, staying
there for a year in which Carl is listed as a farmhand (dräng)
and Carl and Johanna had their first child. Anders and Kristina also added
three more children to their family during their time at Fiskartorp. When
Carl and family left Fiskartorp in 1866, another of their brothers, Johan
Edvard Andersson, came to work on the farm. In 1873 Anders and family, along
with Johan, moved to Ängen, also in Vårdinge parish, where Anders continues
to be listed as torpare, and in
1876 they moved to Peterslund where they stayed until 1879 although Johan
moved away in 1878. In 1879 Anders, Kristina and their two youngest children
moved to Frustuna parish back in Södermanland, where Anders is again listed

Axel was born on 27 June 1867 in
Nyköpings Östra parish, Södermanland where his family lived at No. 40 5th
Qvarteret and his father worked as a farmhand (dräng).
Later that year the family moved to Bryngelstorp, then to No. 105-109 5th
Qvarteret in 1869. The family moved to Hargs Bomulls Spinneri in Helgona
parish in 1872 where Pehr was as a factory worker (fabr[iks]arbet[are]).
Axel's mother died in 1883. Axel lived at Hargs bomullsspinneri (cotton
spinning mill) until 1889 when he moved to Fässberg parish in Göteborg och
Bohus county. At this time Axel took the surname Bolin also adding Persson
as a name which is a little confusing since this usually indicates the
previous surname when a new surname was taken but Axel's siblings seem to
have used their father's surname Andersson rather than the patronymic
Persson. Axel lived first at No. 24 or No. 22 Roten F, and is listed as a
labourer (arb[etare]) then moved to
Korndal in 1890 and No 56 and 57 Westra Haga in Göteborgs Masthugg parish in
1891 where he worked as a spinner (spinnare).
In 1893 Axel moved to Göteborgs Haga parish, living at Östra Haga No.
11 until January 1895, then Östra Haga No. 50B for most of 1895 and Östra
Haga No. 44B from December 1895 until 1897. In 1897 Axel moved to Västra
Haga No. 24 in Göteborgs Masthugg parish where he is shown working as a
spinner, then to Roten L No. 2 in Fässberg parish in 1898 where he is listed
as a worker (arb[etare]). In 1899
Axel moved to Kongsfors spinneri in Örby parish, Älvsborg county where he
lived for the next thirty years working as a factory worker (fabribriksarb[etare]).
In 1930 Axel moved to Lindersdal 3 at Skene Kullage, also in Örby parish
where he lived until 1933, still listed as a factory worker and in 1933 he
moved to Hult Nedrege in Örby parish where he is recorded as a pauper (fattighjon).

a dräng from Rusth., Settersta.
Johanna Sofia Jannsdr is recorded as a piga
from Ahlsätter.
Garden worker (trädgårdsdräng),
farmworker (dräng), and
tenant farmer (torpare)
Carl August was born on 14 December
1837 at Charlottenlund, Ludgo parish, Södermanland where his father was a
tenant farmer (torpare). In 1841
the family moved to Säby in Svärta parish and in 1846 they moved to Husby,
also in Svärta parish, then to Ekeby in Runtuna parish in 1847. In November
1852, not yet fifteen, Carl moved away from home to work as a farmworker (dräng) at Klavsäter (Klafsetter) back
in Svärta parish. Within Svärta parish, Carl moved from Klavsäter to
Björkhult in November 1854 where he is listed as a garden worker (trädgårdsdräng) and then back to one of
his childhood residences, Husby in 1856. In October 1858 he moved from
Svärta parish to Boo parish in Stockholms län and then to Esta in Sättersta
parish in November 1860 where Carl is recorded for the first time as a
farmworker (dräng) rather than a
garden worker. He then moved to Weda, in Lästringe parish, Södermanland in
October 1861 (again as a garden worker) until October 1864 when he moved to
Tuve Rusthåll in Sättersta parish, Södermanland, back to being a farmworker.
In October 1865 Carl left Tuve Rusthåll, married Johanna Sophia Jansdotter
on 18 October 1865 in Lästringe, Södermanland and moved to Fiskartorp (torp
under Näsby), the torp of his brother Anders in Vårdinge, Stockholms län.
Their first child, Johan, was born at Fiskartorp in November 1865. In 1866
Carl, Johanna and Johan moved to Frustuna parish back in Södermanland where
Carl is still listed as a farmworker on the farm Ehrndal (or Ärendal). In
1868, the family, now with two children, moved to Märrön and the
Husförhörslängd there lists Carl as a torpare.
Märrön was a torp under Ehrendal,
so it seems that Carl moved into a torp
on the same farm that he was previously a farmworker on. In 1890, after 22
years at Märrön, Carl and his family moved to Solvik in Lästringe parish,
where he is listed as a torpare,
and in 1900 he retired to next door Karlberg, Lästringe, but moved to Albro
in Sättersta parish in November 1901. In 1912 Karl and Johanna fostered a
six year girl, Astrid Maria Stenius, who remained with them until 1916 when
she moved to Frustuna parish. Carl remained at Albro until his death in
1918.

Carl Alfred was born on 31 December
1859, in Lästringe parish, Södermanland. His unmarried mother, Carolina
Charlotta Andersdotter was living at Myra in Runtuna parish at the time but
had her baby in Lästringe, possibly at Lilla Längsjötorp where her mother
had grown up and her elder sister Maria lived at that time. He was baptised
on 3 January 1860, presumably in Runtuna parish where the baptism record is
found, and Maria and her husband were witnesses at the baptism, as were her
brother, Pehr Adolf Andersson and another sister, Johanna Christina
Andersdotter. In 1860 Carolina and Carl moved to Ährsta, also in Runtuna
parish and then to Österberga Båtsmanstorp in 1861. Carl died on 25 June
1863 from whooping cough (kikhosta).

Johan Edvard was born on 30 June

(dräng). In 1846 the family moved
to Husby, also in Svärta parish, then to Ekeby in Runtuna parish in
1847. In 1857 Johan moved away from home to work as a servant boy (tj[änare]g[osse]) at Aspåker in Råby-Rönö parish, going
to Skälby in Runtuna parish in 1859 where he worked as a farmhand (dräng),
then Presttorp in 1861. In 1864 Johan moved to Nyköping Västra, living at
Forsta Qvarteret No. 54½. He moved to Grofwa in Lunda parish in April 1865
and back to Nyköping Västra in Novemebr 1865, now living at Andra Qvarteret
No. 20. In 1866 Johan moved to Fiskartorp, in Vårdinge parish in Stockholms
län where his elder brother Anders Gustaf Andersson was the torpare.
Johan is listed as a dräng at
Fiskartorp. When Anders Gustaf and his family moved to Ängen, also in
Vårdinge parish in 1874, Johan went with them, and he also made the move
with Anders to Peterslund in 1876. Here I lose track of Johan. He is listed
as going to Stockholm in 1878, but that entry is crossed out in the Flyttningslängder,
and a note in the Husförhörslängd states that he has "reappeared" (återkommen).
He is not listed at Peterslund in the 1880-1885 Husförhörslängd, I do not
see another Utflyttade listing for him after the 1878 Stockholm entry and
1880, and he is not found in the Rotemansarkivet for Stockholm.
