Death: 27 June 1808, at Skinnartorp, Ludgo, Södermanland, Sweden, of "old age" (bräkl; Ålderdom). Anna-Brita Magnusson writes that Erik died (on the same date) during a deliberate fire set on the land (Vådeligen omkommen vid ett svedjebruk av brännskador. Medvållande), which is somewhat at odds with him dying of old age!
